Hypnosis is not magic - it is science! It works by creating a surge of brainwaves similar to what you experience in REM sleep. This is what allows you to access the subconscious mind. It's very simple and anyone can do it; you will experience it for yourself when you try it.
The experience feels different for everyone. Some people feel a floating sensation, some do not. Others may feel sleepy, some may not. Most people feel relaxed and at ease. The important thing to know is that the feeling is not an indicator of how effective the process is. Regardless of how it feels - it works.
No. You are in complete control. You cannot be forced into anything, and you cannot be put into hypnosis against your will. It is your experience; I merely support you.
I start by guiding you into a very relaxed hypnotic state. You are always in control and will remember everything afterwards. In this relaxed state with access to your subconscious mind, we look at scenes from your life that have to do with where your deeper beliefs (that drive your current behavior) come from. Beliefs that are blocking you in your life today. We dissolve and transform negative beliefs into positive patterns of action. Finally, you will receive an audio recording that is personalized to you and that you will listen to consistently for at least the next 21 days.
The session always ends with a so-called "transformation", which means that all that you wish for at the beginning is still strengthened and manifested at the end. Shortly after the session you may feel tired and exhausted and have the feeling that you are not yet fully back. We always do a debriefing after the session - we discuss together how you have been. In the following days, it may be that images and emotions from your subconscious come up repeatedly, which can now be worked on. This can happen both in your sleep, i.e., in your dreams, and in your waking state in everyday life. This is a good sign that your system is working and reorganizing itself. It is very important to listen to the personalized audio for the next 21 days so that the positive change achieved is stabilized. Our subconscious mind would otherwise tend to revert to old patterns and behaviors. We remain in contact with you after the session and accompany you in the change process.
It may sound too simply at first glance, but you can tell when you are getting closer to your goal or have reached it. Many clients describe hypnosis and trance as a state like the feeling just before falling asleep, i.e., like a kind of intermediate state between being awake and being asleep. During hypnosis there are changes in feeling, thinking and physical experience. As a rule, you feel a deep sense of relaxation. The following characteristics can help describe the trance state: Calmer breathing, the heartbeat and pulse slow down in a healthy way, the muscles relax, facial expressions change (the facial muscles become looser and sometimes the mouth opens, the body feels calm and relaxed without the desire to move immediately. Sometimes involuntary muscle movements and twitches etc. are noticed.
Don't worry about how deep you go, it really doesn't matter. The depth of the trance has nothing at all to do with the results. So do not get stuck on the question "am I deep enough?" Just tell yourself the truth - "this works" and it will work.
Every person is different and depending on how deeply you work, you may come out of the session jumping with excitement or you may feel a sense of pensiveness or wonder. You may also discover more about yourself after the session. Whether you feel energized or thoughtful, you will always leave our practice with a sense of understanding, freedom, and empowerment.
No. You are awake and alert and aware of everything that is happening during the session.
As you are not asleep, you will not wake up. If you feel the need to open your eyes during the session, you can do so. I will then guide you back into relaxation. And if you really do fall asleep, that is perfectly okay. After all, you are very relaxed. I will then gently bring you back into the session.
No. That is a misconception. You are in full control the whole time. You can talk, move your body, or get a tissue. When the session is on Skype and our connection is interrupted, if you are really relaxed you can drift off to sleep, but eventually you will notice that you no longer hear my voice and open your eyes.
Hypnosis gives direct access to the 'reasons' that determine why we do what we do and how we react, which is why RTT® can save you hours, even years of talk therapy, searching for the root cause. The source of our problems is usually based on an age-appropriate understanding in childhood. If you are able to observe yourself and these understandings with your adult understanding and compassion, it is relatively easy to let them go. New beliefs can then be anchored and help you to move forward.
Sometimes it takes more than one session per issue, namely when the issues are not so clearly delineated and interwoven. In principle, we speak of short-term therapy in this context (maximum 5 sessions).
Hypnosis has a long-term, lasting effect, provided you listen to your personalized audio for at least 21 days.
One of the best side effects of hypnosis is a feeling of inner freedom and relaxation. As old patterns are worked through, the body sometimes needs some time to realign. Experience has shown that some clients feel tired and exhausted immediately after the session. Plan time for yourself after the session. In the days that follow, you may experience increased dreaming, repressed feelings, or initial restlessness. This is completely normal and is part of the process. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
You can. Anyone can. If you have the desire to go into hypnosis, you will. It is an easy, enjoyable, and thoroughly relaxing process.
As you will receive an audio recording personalized to you and your issue after your session, which you will listen to for three weeks, it makes sense to have your next session after four weeks. In urgent cases we can shorten this period by arrangement.
There are three types of change through Rapid Transformational Therapy - every person is different:
–Immediate: you feel a massive change immediately - immediate changes in your physiology, thoughts, and behavior right in the session e.g., no need for a cigarette.
–Successive: you see consistent changes every day or over time.
–Retrospective: you don't see the changes immediately and one day you suddenly look back and see all the things that have changed in your life.
You may experience a combination of the three types.
Children have much more direct access to their subconscious than we adults do. This is another reason why many beliefs and convictions are formed in early childhood. Children simply make their own sense of situations. This is exactly why it is very effective to dissolve them at a young age (from about 10 years) and to focus on the positive and powerful beliefs. With children we achieve great success with sometimes only one session.
Yes, regression is an extremely valuable way to discover the cause of a problem. You will not be reliving a certain moment; you will simply be observing events or experiences that you have had in your past. Many clients find the observer role - we sometimes call it the detective or profiler role - extremely exciting because they are not reliving a painful situation but looking at it and recognizing it as an age-appropriate reaction with late effects that once discovered can be resolved.
No. You are attentive and clear during hypnosis, and you decide for yourself at any time which parts you want to share and which you do not. What is important to dissolve blockages are the emotions that have arisen in a situation. It is enough to work with the emotions as well as with the thoughts about yourself that you were thinking at that moment.
If you go back to scenes from your life that involve things such as sexual or physical abuse or other trauma, it is important to know that you are not reliving that scene, just reviewing it and that you are safe while doing so. I will support you and create a safe space for you to express your emotions - you will be fine.
Scientifically and medically, hypnosis is a recognized method. Nevertheless, statutory health insurances such as ÖGK do not yet cover the costs of hypnosis therapy. Some private health insurance providers cover the costs of hypnosis and hypnotherapy in part or in full, depending on the respective and individual contract. Please talk to your insurance agent about this in advance.
Talk therapy begins with an initial consultation, after which follow-up sessions are arranged if the chemistry between therapist and client is right. Depending on the topic, the therapy usually takes a little longer. We work on the conscious level and at the pace of the client. We also like to combine hypnotherapy with this tried and tested process if it fits well. Both forms require trust in the process and the desire to change.
Online sessions are available for clients outside the region. Online sessions are just as effective as face-to-face meetings and more than 50% of my sessions take place online. We currently use MS Teams or Zoom; the platforms are reliable and easy to use. You will receive all the necessary instructions beforehand.
In general, hypnosis can only be used if the client wants to be hypnotized. However, as with any form of treatment, there are so-called contraindications to hypnosis, i.e., illnesses, symptoms or circumstances that prohibit the use of a drug or method. Contraindications include:
- acute psychoses and delusions/schizophrenia
- acute epilepsy
- perceptual disorders or difficulties in understanding speech
- taking psychotropic drugs
- acute heart disease
If you suffer from one of the above-mentioned illnesses, hypnosis may only be carried out after consultation with your attending specialist.
